JAMES RIVER BASIN CREDITS

SLATE RIVER NUTRIENT BANK

The Slate River Nutrient Bank can be found on a 122 acre property located  7 miles north of Dillwyn in Buckingham County, Virginia. This bank is in the Piedmont Region of Virginia and drains to Muddy Creek and the Slate River before reaching the James River. This land conversion project converts prior agricultural land to Loblolly Pine Forest thereby ceasing agricultural runoff and nutrient loading to local waterways. This Nutrient Bank services the James River Basin and generates 101 pounds of phosphorous reduction credits and 339 pounds of nitrogen reduction credits.
